Polyonics manufactures a line of specialty tapes, labels, and tags for harsh environment industrial applications. This letter certifies, to the best of our ability, that the manufactured articles listed below comply with the current version of the European Union’s REACH regulation, Directive EC 1907/2006, as of the date of this letter. REACH stands for Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals. Comprehensive summary information on this EU regulation may be found at The European Chemical Agency(ECHA) website at https://echa.europa.eu/regulations/reach/understanding-reach. Polyonics does not manufacture chemicals but uses chemicals to formulate our products. As such, Polyonics is classified as a manufacture of articles under the REACH regulation. All Articles we manufacture are not intended to expose humans or the environment to any released chemicals under recommended conditions of use. The REACH Regulation maintains a list of substances proposed to cause risk to humans or the environment. This list is promulgated under Annex XIV of The Regulation and is updated periodically by the European Chemical Agency, typically every six months. This list is called the Candidate List because the chemicals detailed on the list are candidates for market restriction based on environmental persistence, bioaccumulation potential, or toxicity. The candidate list is often referred to as Substance of Very High Concern (SVHC) list or Authorization List and the current list, as of the date of this letter, contains 233 chemicals. The only official version of this list is maintained by ECHA and may be found at https://echa.europa.eu/authorisation-list. Polyonics does not use or intentionally add any of these 233 chemicals to our products above the threshold level of 0.1%. Our basis of certification for the products listed below is derived through subject matter expert review of our bill of materials. Additionally, Polyonics surveys our supply chain to determine if our raw material suppliers utilize any SVHC above the 0.1% threshold. Finally, we periodically remind our supply partners of their REACH notification obligations regarding our raw materials. It is important to note that we do not comprehensively test for all SVHC 233 chemicals in all our products, as this is not practical. Finally, it is the responsibility of our customers to determine that their use of our products is safe, compliant, and technically suitable in their intended application. For assistance in understanding your company’s REACH obligations, an ECHA guidance document may be reviewed at: https://echa.europa.eu/documents/10162/23036412/articles_en.pdf Should you have any additional questions, we welcome your inquiry at www.superlabels.co.za
